Aaron Reece Caydon has repeated this mantra every day of his life from the age of four. He looks into the mirror and slowly turns his head to look at the scar running across the side of his face. A furrow begins to grow between his eye, an anger that takes his mind to a dark an unforgiving place.

Happily retired after over thirty years of nursing. I now enjoy the sunsets on Galveston Island sitting on my deck and writing new stories for my readers. From historical Fiction to Thrillers, I love to keep you turning the pages. I've been away from Goodreads for a while but now have more time to check in often.

Wow, this was a great thriller novel with a pinch of paranormal influence. The Author sent me her book and I am happy she did. She is an indie author and I like to support them. Even though she sent me her book for free there was no requirement for a review and I am submitting this voluntarily because I loved it so much.

Archidamus is a good read that is character driven. I found Aaron, his background, his extra abilities and personality traits very enticing for a villain and his parts of the story most interesting.
Zaveen's extra abilities added to the plot with a nice twist and worked well.
However, and this could just be me, I found all the resting and eating by the good guys to take away from the tension of the story. Also, whenever there was violence it was only covered by a couple of sentences and would've been better if drawn out more.
Overall, the story draws the reader in and makes them want to find out what happens until the end.

Janet Shawgo's book Archidamus is a thriller/paranormal book. I do not usually read books in this genre, but having met the author and knowing it had received a 1st Place award from Chanticleer, I purchased it. Within the first few pages, it piqued my curiosity and imagination. The characters are realistic and captivating, and the story drew me into a complex future that both beckoned and terrified me. This book is well-written and flows so that you find it difficult to put down until you reach the end. I would read another of her books, and I highly recommend it to you.

A Thriller with a twist

I have had this book on my TBR list since meeting the author at a conference in 2017.

After hearing a sequel was now out, put a rush on getting this one read. I have never been a big paranormal fan and while I didn't know this had some of that woven in, I did not find it too distracting to the thriller I was hoping for.

While I was originally intrigued with Archidamus, I found that he was not the protagonist. He could just as easily been, since he had a crappy childhood and we could have rooted for him to do something really special besides be a child with no emotion and later kill people without remorse.

While there were a few picky things for me, I very much enjoyed reading this book and look forward to the sequel.

I definitely recommend this book for an edge of the seat read!

I will confess to not being a fan of the paranormal genre, however, I am a devoted fan of Janet Shawgo. Archidamas is a fascinating book, with interesting characters, suspenseful plot line and extremely good writing technique. Shawgo has the ability to draw the reader into the story and keep them there until the very last page. A lot of research went into this book and it’s very apparent that the author isn’t hesitant about putting in the work it takes for a successful story. The award-winning Archidamas has earned well-deserved praise and one can only hope that this very talented author keeps writing, and writing, and writing.

This book was more of a thriller than the previous three by Janet Shawgo that I have read. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I ended up being drawn in and had a hard time putting it down. I like her character development that she always does, and in this book we got to know the antagonist, Aaron, much better as well as how he got to be the way he was. There was a lot of tension as things began to unfold and I was worried that I wouldn't like the thriller part, but I have to admit that I enjoyed the book very much. Her characters are mostly likeable people who have issues sometimes and I could identify with them. I recommend this book.

4.5 Stars. This was an absolute joy to read. Fast paced action, twists, lots of interconnected characters mixed with just a bit of supernatural/scifi mixed in to make this action, crime thriller a bit unique. This is the story of Aaron Reece Caydon, a family he is victimizing and the NSA agents tasked at capturing him. He has a eidetic memory, a cold heart, and is utterly ruthless all the while staying one step ahead of his captors.

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to read this and will very quickly be getting to the sequal Legacy of Lies.

This book was a bit of a thrilling listen for me. I loved the history and I loved how the whole series just came together, so seamlessly.

A lot of action, a lot of dark humor, a lot of danger and hold your breath moments. So many surprises.

Well planned and well thought out. The villain is a true villain. I loved all the characters and how close they were to one another. You could argue that even Aaron, the villain, was close to them! I loved Zac and Lane as a team.

This author is so good at writing strong, but not overbearing, women.

Truly a fun book to listen to. Will definitely keep you in your toes! The narrator was just perfect for this book!
