The Dangerous Cove is an exciting adventure set in Newfoundland in 1676.
Front flyleaf: The first intrepid fishermen, attempting to establish permanent settlements in the fishing coves, were struggling to survive the attacks of the Devon Captains who feared the settlements would destroy their lucrative practices. it is a tale to stir the blood of young Canadians and to make them proud of the dauntless courage displayed by the pioneer fishermen.
This is definately Hayes at his best. The adventures of Peter and Tom will keep young readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. If you read-aloud, be prepared to for the cries "Keep reading!"
