Contemporary publications on Salt Printing are always welcome especially one that showcases the work of others. The book contains some useful and practical information, but because of the books poor design and layout, its quite hard to recommend.

I hope it does make it to a second edition and by then a designer (or perhaps a more capable designer) will have been consulted to put some thought into its construction. Books are intended to, at least, be read...because of the lack of design, I don't want to read this again.

...a missed opportunity!!

Excellent technical manual on salt printing, one of the precursors to the silver-gelatin photographic print. While technically simple, the many variables in making a salt print can prove difficult. This book walks through the procedures and pitfalls. Many example prints are featured.

It was precisely what I needed. Each book I've read on salted paper printing has taught me something but this one put the pieces together.
