No Backbone! Insects

by Meish Goldish

How are butterflies able to taste their food without putting it in their mouth? They stand on the food and taste it using their feet! This is just one of the many surprising facts children will discover as they explore the fascinating world of these colorful creatures. Large, eye-popping photos and clear, grade-appropriate text will engage emergent readers as they learn about the natural habitat, physical characteristics, diet, and behavior of this unique invertebrate. Beautiful Butterflies is part of Bearport's No Backbone! The World of Invertebrates series.
