Wasn't a complete story. This is just the first installment of a serial novel. Unfortunately it wasn't labeled as such on Amazon. The number of pages in the book was also missing so no way to tell. Main characters are introduced and a hint of what the storyline will be in future books, but nothing else happens in the book. I would have given it one star except the storyline does have an interesting premise. Don't know if the author will deliver in future volumes.

Meehan's Millenial Girl certainly starts with a bang. You won't be bored as you dive into this dramatic tale that serves female military servicemembers by highlighting the resentments that can be harbored toward them for voluntarily serving because of their gender. Packed with action and drama, even readers with no experience withe military will be drawn into Meehan's work.

This novel is set in the near future. As human trafficking runs rampant the young daughter of a body guard for the U.S. president is kidnapped. Asha, a recent Green Beret gradate, the only female woman to have graduated from Green Beret training is recruited by the U.S. President, answering only to him with unlimited dark resources at her disposal, to not only rescue the 14 year old but to infiltrate the headquarters of the mastermind in order to shut down his human trafficking operation which in turn will shut down human trafficking world wide. The novel takes us into a world of humanoids, robots that are human in almost all ways and cyborgs, humans who have been enhanced by technological implants.

On the plus side, the novel is entertaining, a good beach read. The characters are well developed and engaging. The novel proceeds through its story arc at a brisk pace. The prerequisite happy ending is satisfying.
On the negative side, Asha from time to time states short religious spurts; a short prayer or statements about her religious beliefs. These seem to be forced and serve little purpose in the overall narrative. All novels require their readers to willingly suspend disbelief. Millennial Girl requires more than its fair share of this. The novel is littered with truly unlikely saved in the nick of time events.

There is also a major in Chapter 27 when the narrative has a character points a gun at his own face when clearly the author meant to have the gun pointed at the antagonist. This error is so glaring that it left me wondering how the author and his editors missed it.

This novel while entertaining could have been so much better.
