50 રૂપિયાની ટિકિટ લઈ રાત્રે 9 થી 12 થિયેટરમાં ફ્રેશ થવા જતા સરેરાશ ભારતીય પ્રેક્ષક અને જાડા કાચનાં ચશ્માં પહેરીને દિગ્ગજ સાહિત્યકારોનાં થોથાં ઉથલાવતા વિદ્વાનના વિષયો અહીં રસાળ રીતે ભેગા કરવામાં આવ્યા છે ! પ્રથમ દ્રષ્ટિએ બંને વચ્ચે કદાચ તફાવત લાગે, પણ સિનેમા તો સાહિત્યનું લાડકું સંતાન છે. માટે ત્રીસ ફૂટના પડદા અને પોણા ફૂટના પાનાનું અદભુત સામંજસ્ય અહીં મહાલવા અને માણવા મળશે. અમિતાભ બચ્ચન, પામેલા, એન્ડરસન, વોલ્ટ ડિઝની, આલ્ફ્રેડ હિચકોક, સ્ટીવન સ્પીલબર્ગ, મુકુલ એસ. આનંદ, જ્યોર્જ લુકાસ, ગિરીશ કર્નાર્ડ વગેરેનું પડદા પરનું અને પડદા પાછળનું અહીં વૃત્તાંત છે. વીતેલા વર્ષોની નહીં, આજના દૌરની કલાસિક ફિલ્મોનો રસાસ્વાદ છે. જગતની સેક્સીએસ્ટ ફિલ્મથી લઈને ભારતની કોમેડી ફિલ્મોનું મૂલ્યાંકન છે. બોલિવૂડમાં છવાયેલા ગુજરાતીઓ અને હોલિવૂડમાં પથરાયેલા હિન્દુસ્તાનીઓની વાતો છે. તો મેઘાણી, રમણલાલ સોની, એલેકઝાન્ડર ડ્યુમા, ઓસ્કાર વાઈલ્ડ, થોરો, ગાલિબ, અરૂંધતી રોય, વિક્ટર હ્યુગો, જૂલે વર્ન અને હાન્સ એન્ડરસન ઈત્યાદિ નામોનું પાનાઓ પરનું અને પાનાંઓ 'થી' પરનું વૃત્તાંત છે. ! વિશ્વની અમર કથાઓની કમાલ કલમથી ઝિલાઈ છે. આવું સાહિત્યસર્જન ખુદ સિનેમાનું અભિન્ન અંગ બની ચૂક્યું છે. અહીં ફિલ્મોનાં ગીત, સંગીત, કોસ્ચ્યુમ, માર્કેટિંગ, એવોર્ડસ, ટી.વી. ચેનલ્સ અને ટેકનોલોજીનું નવતર બયાન છે.... અને છપાયેલા શબ્દોની શાહીમાંથી ઊઠતી ગંધનું પણ આખ્યાન છે. ટૂંકમાં, આ પાનાઓ પર સિનેમા અને સાહિત્યની પ્રેમકથાનો દસ્તાવેજ છે.
