Heartfelt Change: Turning Harmful Emotions into Positive Character

Rate this book
In therapeutic circles, a long-held belief assumes that anxiety, depression, and defensiveness are the result of wrong input by parents and others in one's life. Carter looks deeper into human nature--the sin nature--and shows readers how to conquer emotional barriers, once and for all. Part of the Healing for the Heart Series.

Using a psychological and biblical approach, Les Carter discusses the ways that negative emotions can be brought about by sin. At the base of some many of our problems sin abounds. Whether it’s pride, anger or even loneliness, we can learn to rise above and make heartfelt changes based on spiritual assessment.

I thought this was a good ending quote: “Ultimately change is an issue between each person and God. As the Holy Spirit convicts us of matters to be altered, He then gives us strength to make the adjustments. Different instruments can be used in this process...But ultimately our change hinges on our willingness to deepen our spiritual lives, not on the behavior of others.”
