Alone in the world except for her special-needs toddler, Sage McKenna is the go-to handyman in her small town. Even her smile has been known to mend a broken heart or two.
Adam Hracek never wanted a permanent home until he arrives in Willoree and meets the town's handyman. If Sage can cobble together an extended family by repairing things and mending broken hearts, maybe she can heal him, too.
But he'll be gone in a year, Sage won't allow herself or her daughter to grow close to Adam, and love has no respect for their plans to stay apart.

Tender, romantic and inspiring, this gentle contemporary romance touched my heart and made me believe in love and second chances. Sage's accidental meeting with Adam set the tone for their relationship. Adam is a rolling stone that gathers no moss, but he is nevertheless a generous and caring man. When he understands that Sage has to get to her appointment but has no means to do so, he offers her his help, only to discover that they are both involved in the same property but with a different purpose. Their relationship grows out of mutual attraction, but Adam has no intention of settling down or becoming involved with any woman on a permanent basis. Slowly but surely, Sage's family of the heart draws him in and their total acceptance gives him a new purpose for living. However, it does take time for his head to catch up with his heart and realise that it is possible for him to have it all. Sage takes what she can from the relationship with Adam, even though her heart is breaking. When the past comes to back to haunt her, to hurt her all over again, she finds in Adam a champion and one that is willing to go the extra mile to keep her and her precious daughter safe. This book is beautifully written and brings to light that those closest to us can, in fact, be closer than blood relatives and give one's life meaning and purpose. Sage McKenna is the town Handyman in Willoree. We learn about her story and her daughter Joy who has Down syndrome. Through a house leasing and selling mishap we meet a business man Adam Hracek. He leased a house from an older woman whom was also selling the house to Sage at the same time. He is in town to help a local plant owner to update a more ecofriendly packaging in his plant. He plans to only be there a year and this is mentioned several times throughout the book. We do learn his story as well. Of course throw in some instant attraction and you get this whirlwind of a story. This was a cute quick read. I liked reading about Joy she was so sweet and loving. Sage was a very fierce protector and I really liked that. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review. An interesting novel about unique life situations and a second chances at love. Saige along with Joy, her special needs child, and her cobbled-together family seem to embrace the true meaning of family. Adam appears to be a career driven loner who appears almost afraid to settle down. A few challenges with one of Saige’s employees as well as her ex husband bring a bit of suspense to the story. Most of the plot is somewhat predictable right down to the HEA at the end. A simple yet enjoyable feel-good read. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. A quick predictable read. There’s a lot to be said for that. I felt there was a double standard in that Adam all but abandons his son and Sage doesn’t hold him accountable. I love how Sage assembled her family. Those scenes were beautiful. I also loved that Sage respected and valued Joy as a person with a mind and a future. As a person with a visual impairment this means so much. I received this book from eBook Discovery. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is my honest review.
Second chances in love. There's a lot to be said for them. Sage is the go to person, and Adam who is not interested in settling down. They meet by accident, and sparks begin to fly. An easy read ,but very enjoyable with a HEA. Wonderful story about another chance at love. I received this book for free from Ebook Discovery. I volunteered to review and this is my honest review.
