Disillusioned with home life, Molloy makes up his mind to leave. An adventurous teenager, he begins his new life by first paying for a special tattoo. In the weeks and months that follow he learns to believe in himself as he alone makes decisions, develops relationships, and considers choices. He soon realizes that part of growing up is reconciling with the past, and choosing to trust in the future.
NORMAL By Luke O’Grady Luke lived in Canada with his parents, until his mom left. He wanted to run away. He went to Ottawa on a train without saying goodbye to his dad. The weight of the heavy bag, a need for a place to crash, and the hunger in his belly began to weigh on Luke. He learned quickly needy people were everywhere. Everyone wanted something. Shabby places, shabby people, shabby circumstances. Everyone needs a purpose to get up in the morning. Luke eventually got a job at a diner and a small place to stay. The groove soon turned into a rut. Life became stale and he was seeking momentum to break free. A mention of “People for a better World” came across Luke’s path a few times. He met a few people from this organization and learned a certain amount of trust is needed to join. How did the trivial, ridiculous tasks of “People for a better World” make a positive difference in the universe? Luke contemplated and doubted but still joined the organization. The rest is a journey of self-discovery of the young man Luke and the secret organization joined. Eventually, self-doubt led him to take a break and rent a cottage on Lake Ontario. He left “The people for a better World”. The cottage was a place for meditation, journalizing, and taking long runs. The book is Luke’s journey of self-discovery, meditation, and writing. This is a wonder story of a boy’s journey to manhood. He journalized the real world, and how we impact one another. The book is shared to inspire and reveal how a person’s story can be inspirational, unique and insightful. I thank Luke for sharing his self-discovery.
