Zoom In On...Sharks series includes this title as well as 5 other types of sharks. With one to two sentences per page, this title is great for early independent readers as well as young researchers learning more about sharks.
The photographs are close up and show lots a great detail. I especially like the close-up of the sharks mouth on page 10! Unfortunately, the text compares young sharks and old sharks, but the illustrations do not adequately show the distinction. They all look the same to me. Perhaps a pup next to an adult would give the reader a better sense for the size difference?
