I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have no connection to Aventuras De Viaje.
A very good reference book to yoga poses. Good instruction and helpful diagrams on how to carry out the poses. I did question the idea of having the poses in alphabetical order. As certain poses start from other poses that are later on in the alphabet. O realises the ideas of using this book as a reference on how to carry out the different poses was the reason for this as it makes the pose easy to find and the book is short enough that it is easy to flick through to the pose you want. Though you do have to know the name of the poses to do this. So as a recommendation I would say read the book all the way through before starting any out the poses. For intermediate to advanced practitioners you will see many of the poses you know it maybe a couple of new ones.
The only thing I did not find in this book was that, at the beginning of every pose there is a warning of not doing the pose if you have certain injuries, but it does not tell you where that poses is targeting which body parts. There is a small section at the end of the book describing sequences of exercises/poses to do together. A very great reference book for beginners, and refresher or fresh look for people getting back into Yoga.
Basic Yoga for Improving Flexibility is a clearly written how-to book to help interested readers learn to limber up their bodies. It covers two methods of breathing correctly, sitting and lying down, and the proper use of a mantra (I had no idea it was akin to an affirmation).
The exercises are clearly described, but just in case that’s not enough, line drawings are also included for clarity.
Also very handy—clear warnings are given for those with existing injuries so they know which exercises may be unwise for them.
Book Title: Basic Yoga for Improved Flexibility Subtitle: Author: Aventuras de Viaje Genre: Self-help, non-fiction Part of a series? Yes/No Order in series: Best read after earlier books in series? No Available: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... Overall score: I scored this book 3/5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Short Summary of the book: This book is focussed on the art of yoga. The book is separated in a few chapters: Breathing, Yoga Nidra, Poses and Sequences. There are also links to some freebies from the author. What I liked about the book: I liked the premise of a book that would help improve my flexibility. I have always enjoyed yoga and looked forward to reading another book on this subject.
What I didn’t like about the book: I wasn’t impressed by the layout, the images or the search options of the book. The poses were listed alphabetically. For instance, ‘Balancing Table’ was listed before ‘Table’. This meant that the reader had to read through (or swipe through) all the poses in between to learn what the starting position for ‘Balancing Table’ was.
The book would have been more user-friendly if one of the following measures had been taken by the author: • Giving each pose its own chapter. • Hyperlinking/bookmarking the poses and link to the pose required as a start.
The lettering in the Sequences section was a rather small font and therefore difficult to read, as were the images below it. I believe there are several improvements the author can make to make this book more user-friendly and more marketable. My favourite bits in the book: I liked the descriptions of the poses, which were mostly understandable with the drawings provided. My least favourite bits in the book: I didn’t like the low-quality images, which were anatomically incorrect and confusing at times. Any further books in the series? Any more planned by this author? I understand this author has written several other books in this genre. What books could this be compared to and why? Although there are many books about yoga, this book fell unfortunately below my expectation. Perhaps I am too spoilt having read many other yoga books, perhaps my criticism is fair. It can be compared to other books, however, it does not compare favourably. Recommendation: In summary, I would recommend this book for the following readers:
Children Under guidance Young Adult Yes Adult Yes
If you like books about yoga this book may be the book for you. There are, however, several improvements possible to the layout of and images in this book. To be honest, I was rather disappointed by this book. Book Description by Author: Discover How to use Basic Yoga to Drastically Increase Your Flexibility and Health!

This is a step-by-step guide for yoga novices. Although I have never tried yoga, I found the instructions to be clear, concise, and easy to follow. It's well written. The book is divided into three sections—breathing techniques, yoga positions and flexibility routines. I read the Kindle version and found it satisfactory. I like the heath warnings for the various positions. If I were to embrace practicing yoga, I would purchase the paperback as it would be easier to flip pages between the positions and the routines.
This is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in beginning a yoga practice. It features clear, step-by-step instructions on breathing, meditation and close to 70 different poses. Each pose is thoroughly explained and illustrated to help anyone get started on their yoga journey.
And if you're more experienced in yoga, the book provides a number of sequences, combinations of poses, to turn your practice into a workout that will get your heart pumping and your body limber.
This book covers the basic yoga poses. It has drawn illustrations and verbal instructions. It even gives warnings of when not to use the pose if parts of your body is injured. It explains yoga breathing also. After reading the book, it would be easy to come up with your own workout. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

As someone who's never tried yoga, this was a helpful guide. The manual divides the instructions into breathing, yoga positions, and flexibility. You're never overwhelmed with too much information at one time. The visual aides were also appreciated. Worth looking into for novices.
