While Malachy Donoghue led a very interesting and full life, this book read like a loooong letter to home and I found myself skipping whole chapters. I lost track of the many “nice” people he knew and named throughout the book (chapters later I would think “who?”). I liked it, although it needs to be edited for spelling errors (the country Chile is not spelled “Chili” among other errors), which are distracting, and stories get repeated throughout the book. All in all, I found it to be more of a memoir for his family and friends.

Wonderful book!

The author had some amazing experiences in his lifetime and it was a pleasure to read about them. He had a real gift of storytelling and I was never bored with this book.

Slow read

Very slow read, lacks detail and does not engage reader. Reads more like a list of events than a story

A beautiful human story. Warm and humorous but with a background of a young man, like so many before (and since) have had to leave Ireland for a better life. Thank you Malachy and family for sharing this remarkable life story with us..

Lovely to hear how a life pans out, how good things can happen. The emigrants tale needs to be told and shared. Ireland is a land that had to export get greatest assets, her sons and daughters. Malachy''s story is one of triumph over adversity.
