This is a fabulous book to have on hand while working on insect life cycles, especially with a hands on butterfly unit. By examining their lives during the lifecycle in a little more depth, I feel like it provides much more authenticity to their journey. Additionally, there are great little facts you can take to create layered curriculum around math (travel speeds), geography (migration), or additional science (researching other insects which go through diapause).
