This harrowing novel is a felicitous mixture of history, romance and humor. The continuous suspense and interest make it a book whose main protagonist lingers in our minds. The author has artfully interwoven the story of a Transylvanian city with the life path of the determined Julius Matthias, ready to fulfill his dream of becoming a doctor at any cost. Finally, the adventurous journey to self-discovery of the young protagonist encompasses the Second World War and its tragedies and challenges…
