I read the first book in the series in two hours and immediately bought the second and third books! The first book started slowly but quickly picked up the pace and I couldn't put it down. I've read all the books in two days! Great characters and story! Highly recommend these books!
Wow, this story begins with a jaw-dropping bang. The author does not disappoint when it comes to creating great plots with diverse, multifaceted characters, first-rate dialogue, and explanatory occurrences. When Detective David Porter receives news that a serial killer has struck again, killing three people, the story takes an unexpected turn that will shock you to the core and have you on the edge of your seat, turning those pages, especially when Detective Elena Deluca takes over the case with some hesitation. There is a trail of flashbacks, accusations, scandal, betrayal, deceit, manipulation, and retribution. If you think you know how this gripping narrative will conclude, think again because, with so many twists and turns, the ending will leave you panting. Even though the story is fictional, it is on point when it comes to how a flawed justice system would rather lock people up and throw away the key than come up with workable solutions to long-term sentencing of minor offenses, and when it comes to the media, if it bleeds, it leads, no matter who gets hurt.
Of the three books in the David Porter series by Terry Keys, Games of Guilt is the most suspenseful. I read late into the night to see what would happen next. Gruesome deaths, taunting messages, and highly intelligent perps keep two steps ahead of Detective David Porter and his team. Will he catch Caleb and end the misery haunting him and his family?
This excellent series gave me hours of enjoyment. Mr. Keys managed to keep a high level of suspense in all three of the books. The characters are highly developed and the plots are convoluted. I hated to end the read.
Entertaining, thrilling roller coaster ride all the way till the end. It met and exceeded everything that was expected from it especially after reading the 2nd book of the trilogy.
Really enjoyed reading the books, Mr. Keys has a knack for keeping his readers glued to his novels...cheers.
I could not put this down! I read the 3 book series in two days. It was more violent than I like, and quite graphic, but in spite of that, I had to keep going & find out what happened to the characters!
Very exciting and never skipping a beat. I highly recommend this book to anyone whom likes a good crime story. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Terry Keys has a new dedicated fan. I have already purchased the next book in the series. The characters are interesting and the plot is complex. A very good read!
The book wasn't as interesting and deep as the first 2, but I thought it wrapped up nicely. Big issue is the errors! Did an editor even read it? So many double worded sentences and simple misspellings. I definitely was shocked at the sheer amount of shocking mistakes. I love Terry Keys's writing. Don't get me wrong. But the errors are seriously bothering me. Especially when I had to try to figure out the sentence myself.
This is the third in the series and it had a fitting ending. Enjoyed each of the three. Characters were mostly believable , though there were some “Superman” moments. Not a negative , just an opinion As I had stated in a review of the first 2 stories, I don’t usually follow police stories since that was my career. This series was excellent. Author did his homework about police investigations which is unusual Consider the 3 stories well worth reading
