Boy oh boy I have enjoyed this journey with Brady and Blue. I remember loving the first book, missed the second, but then got right back into the groove with the third. This fourth installment (not sure if it's the last) was the most angst I have read in a long time. To fully appreciate where Brady and Blue are coming from, it would be best to read at least the first book. D.P Denman does a nice job at explaining who everybody is, as well as the past in Stealing Blue, however for the full effect, start from the beginning.
Brady and Blue have finally found a nice rhythm. With the drama from Blue's past and Brady's brother finally settling down, they can focus more on themselves and the new chapter in thier lives. A semi-retired Brady and new music producer Blue could never in a million years see what was ahead for them.
Blue was young when Brady took him in and nursed him back to health. Really, Brady is all Blue knows and has been happy that way for years. Brady's way. Now that he's doing his own thing, with his own clients, this new side emerging from Brady is something Blue hasn't dealt with before.
Brady has never been the "needy" guy. They bossy guy, yes. The guy that gives Blue everything he wants mentally, yes. Needy and Brady never went hand in hand until now and I didn't like this Brady one bit. They were a strong couple that he was determined to throw away on a whim it seemed.
Blue was just as surprised at this side of Brady and had no idea what to do to settle his insecurities. For the first half of the book I absolutely loved the way things were going. So many changes for Brady and Blue, feelings to work out and truths to tell. The back and forth was excruciating, in a good way. Then, it all went to he!! in a handbasket and I was getting ready to hunt D.P Denman down as she took my boys in a direction I didn't appreciate at all.
"His career was on the edge of something spectacular, his love life in pieces at the bottom of a cliff."
Things went from bad to worse with Brady and Blue and I kept watching the percentage on my Kindle, hoping there wasn't a cliffy ahead. Luckily there wasn't, however the ending wasn't my favorite either. Such a dramatic build up for that ending. It was too quick for me. After all the drama I waded through with Brady and Blue, I was ready to climb back with them as well. I was left disappointed instead.
"It's never easy to let go of the past...but sometimes that's the only way to move forward."
The book is well written with Blue and Brady getting thier say. It is angst from beginning to end and the good kind. A great addition to the series.
Let me start by saying that for you to understand everything between Blue and Brady, I recommend that you read the first book in the series. You won't be sorry I promise.
A love triangle that will pull at every emotion you have.
This is the forth book and I loved it just like the rest. Blue has overcome so much in his life to be where he is today. He has a job that he loves. A man he loves and gets to come home to every night. His friends help him in ways they may never know. Blue has everything he has ever needed but life has a way of turning upside down and Blue isn't sure how to handle it. Things between Brady and Blue get so intense, so raw that it flows off the pages. Every heart string I have was pulled in every direction , I didn't know which way was up. The things these two had to go through seriously broke my head and heart. The bouncing back and forth. The hurt the had to go through. Be prepared your going to need tissues. Your going to want to pull your hair out at some parts, but it's so worth it in the end. I couldn't stop reading. I mean this was a love that should have never been tested, yet it was. Sometimes I wanted to punch both of them and yell "What the hell are you doing?" It was intense and angst at its best and so worth it to the end. You will not be disappointed.
I really enjoy this series, and I do appreciate a book showing how a great relationship can go through huge challenges that may or may not be recovered from. However, not EVERYTHING was Brady’s fault. After years of being everything Blue needs, Brady has jealousy issues after a year of heartache from the fallout with his brother, and all of a sudden, everyone is ganging up on him. If they needed a break, fine, but Blue played his part in the break-up too. He could have had patience, just like Brady has had for him in the past. Still, I am looking forward to the final book in the series.
Stealing Blue by D.P. Denman is the fourth installment in the Blue Series. This is not a stand alone andfor better understanding you should read these books in order. Book One Blue; Book Two Rhythm and Blue; and Book Three Fade to Blue.
Blue Atkins is now a successful artist and producer. But then a new client shows up and his antics break the camels back. Brady´s camel. He´s uberjealous and bitter. He drives Blue away to LA. Brady´s hung up on his past experiences with former lovers. He can´t let it go.
Reading Stealing Blue my emotions were in a rollercoaster. My heart was bleeding and I wanted to hug Blue and shake Brady and then hug him too. Both men have to go through a painful and long time transformation. I read this book in one sitting, I couldn´t put it down. And I was at the edge of my seat. I didn´t want this book to end but I couldn´t not know what happens to the characters. I loved the characters, every single one. And I loved the writing, it´s excellent.
Stealing Blue is a wondeful read. A heart wrenchingly story about love, friendship, self-discovery and I hope there will be a next installment - please, pretty please D.P. Denman. I can´t let the characters go yet. I highly, Highly recommend this book and wish I could give more than 5 Stars. Thank you D.P. Denman!!!
Please read the first three books of this series first so you can have the full effect of what this book does to you.
Blue is still a successful songwriter, but now he's trying to further his music career by trying his hand at producing. Scoob has taught him a lot and had confidence he can make it. Blue's first client is a flirtatious brat and perfectionist, to put it in polite terms.
Brady seems to be having some sort of midlife crisis with everything that had gone down with his brother and starts letting his imagination run away with him.
Blue is offered a great opportunity and things kind of spiral from there.
I was heartbroken, frustrated, and wanting to cry like a baby. I have grown attached to these guys and when they have problems, it feels like I'm stuck in the middle. I love the way the writing allowed you to become the characters.
I wasn't sure where things were headed with the whole triangle thing, but I know how I wanted it to turn out. I don't know if I could have given this book five stars if the story didn't end the way I thought it should.
Become part of the story yourself by letting Blue and Brady into your heart then rip it to shreds as they continue to search for their Happily Ever After.
This is the fourth instalment of the Blue series and cannot be read as a standalone.
Blue and Brady have been through such a lot in the last six years that it was hard to believe there were more curveballs to be thrown at them. But this book took them to their utmost limit and personally it wasn’t a ride I wasn’t happy to be on.
Blue is now coming to the pinnacle of his producing career and is given the chance to help a debut artist with his first album. This was also a test for Blue so to have the not so mature eighteen year old making the moves on him was not only a threat to his new step in the spotlight but also to his personal life too.
Brady has always been the stronger of the pair and the one to steer them in the right direction. However when a threat to his relationship with Blue brings forth old insecurities, it releases some strange and alien behaviours that Blue has never witnessed from Brady before. Feeling like he is fighting a losing battle, he decides to put some space between them but will this space be the breather they both need or will it be the start of the end for them?
First off this is one of my utmost favourite series of all time. However I struggled with this book for many reasons. For the first half of the book I was ranting and raving at Brady and then for the second half it was Blue that had me wanting to throw my kindle at the wall. I didn’t like the love triangle or the way that Blue handled that. Yes I could understand that Brady had been the only relationship he had ever had and his need to test how he could be with another but it just made me so unhappy. I felt like he was betraying Brady and why did he not understand why Brady had been such a dick? In turn he was more of a dick in my opinion.
I don’t want to throw this book under the bus because it was still a need to read for fans of the series but the triangle bit went on a bit too long then there was no explanation to the third party when it came to the end of that. Then the HEA I was hoping and praying for seemed to happen in a flash with no deep and soul searching talking between Blue and Brady. It felt like it was rushed and it didn’t leave me with the feels like the previous books had. It felt like the connection was lost.
This was a very angsty and heart wrenching read that had me in tears for all the wrong reason and didn’t give me enough at the end to make me cry for all the right reasons. I just hope this is not the last book in the series as I need to see Blue and Brady back in their happy. 3.5 stars.

Oh man! I have loved Blue and Brady and their journey together so very much and have to admit I was a little nervous about this book. And yeah, emotionally this one put me through the wringer and pretty much kept me there until the end! I would definitely recommend that these books be read in order, they are not standalones.
Brady and Blue have been through and dealt with so much together over the years, but they still have their issues, and when a young hot shot musician shows up it just makes all those issues come to the surface. Blue’s career is taking off and this is a big chance for him but his client is a big flirt and wants Blue. This is a whole new challenge for Blue. At the same time Brady is struggling as well, and this just sends his jealousy through the roof.
I understood what happened with Brady and Blue and their issues, but I have to admit this story was a little hard for me. I’ve become so attached to these two and this part of their journey made my heart hurt! It’s not to say this wasn’t a good read, it was, just much more angsty and heartbreaking. I was frustrated with many of the choices these two made and spent a good amount of this story wanting to throw something! I had to know what was going to happen though, I couldn’t put it down. For as much as I felt as broken as Blue and Brady during most of this story, I loved the end and the way it all came together even if it did happen quickly.
This story had real struggles and raw emotions and while it may not have been my favorite part of Brady and Blue’s relationship, I understood it’s a part of their journey. I don’t know if this is the end of this series, I sure hope that it’s not, but I ended this book with a smile and sigh of relief. Stealing Blue was a powerful and emotional story for Blue and Brady!
This series was one hell of a ride. And maybe had I not read the previous books and been invested in this relationship between Blue and Brady, then this book would not have almost gutted me the way that it did. But gut me, it did.
And while this book ended the way I hoped it would, I did not like the journey in this book that got these two men TO that ending. Nope. Not one bit Yes, I realize relationships are not perfect. Yes, I realize these men have been through so much together. So much pain, heartache. But ugh. Just. Ugh.
This is a series and should be read in order or else you loose so much of the story. But be prepared for this book. It will tug at your heartstrings, make your head hurt, make you want to scream and at some points, I will be honest, I almost put it down and stopped because the story was not going the way I wanted it.
This is fourth book to Blue series. I was on a rollercoaster of a ride with this book, because I couldn't decide if I wanted to hate the characters or feel sorry for them. But also recommend you read the first three books, to know more about what happens in this book.
Blue is changing his career, and doesn't know if he can keep dealing with everything that comes with his new title.
Brady has to learn to deal with what happened in book three, and also all new obstacles in his relationship.
This story made me want to smack them both upside the head, but also wanted to hug them both.
I really enjoyed this story, and it was so well written you couldn't help but feel all the emotions. WTMO.
Love, love, love this! My heart literally clenched every time Blue stepped away. Not sure if readers are supposed to feel for Blue, but I was angry with him. Brady may have made an error in judgement, but Blue was wrong, many times. No spoilers, just read it!
