Another book by Higuchi Yuichi on the mobilization of Korean masses. The goal is clearly stated in the intro: to reveal basic facts about the sacrifice of Korean masses for Japan's militaristic pursuits. He does what he claims to do in this book, and offers probably the most detailed account of the implementation of the volunteer soldier program (1938 ~) and the conscription (1944~).

And yes, they are very basic facts. He even offers reprints of official documents on the training centers etc. This is a handy book, just like his other books, to refer to if you need a reference. But probably not very readable for those who do not know about the era or the topic already.
