The Dog Park Babes tie the knot! Novella #3 of a four-part mini-series meant to be read after the first four Going to the Dogs novels. Begins with Fetched.
Brooke and Drew are getting married and Brooke is happy juggling all her responsibilities with her wonderful fiancé, Drew and her playful Bulldog, Boxer. She’s in her element running both Pawlish, her doggie grooming spa and Bone Appétit, her dog treat franchise.
But, even though Drew hasn’t been demanding, he’s unhappy. Whenever he brings up slowing down, she reassures him she can handle everything. But the reality is that she isn’t and their relationship is suffering. It isn’t until the honeymoon that things come to a head. Brooke is spending more time putting out fires with her businesses than she is quenching her new husband’s fire.
Will her need to handle everything cause her to lose…the only thing that matters?
Zoe Dawson, the author of 40+ books had always dreamed of becoming a full-time romance writer. Her other passions include traveling the world, owning a beach house (she believes she was a mermaid in another life), and seeing her books in movies. When she’s not writing, she’s painting or killing virtual MMORPG monsters in World of Warcraft. She lives in North Carolina with her two grown children and one small, furry gray cat.
Ok I loved this one too but you are going to have to hurry with that last one now look I was all revved up for the last one and it ain't even done yet wth did you fall asleep lol but thx anyway very good read for me
I would read this book again just for what happened to…
…the Palmers (Brooke’s parents)! If you know anything about Harper Sinclair, you’ll know that she’s a fixer. After everything Brooke and Drew went through getting ready for their wedding, you’ll want to read this Novella just to find out what Harper did!
Handled by Zoe Dawson Book #7: Going to the Dogs Series Source: Author Rating: 5/5 stars
I feel like all I need to say about this read is “Drew!” and I am done but alas, that just wouldn’t be enough. I don’t think I realized until I plowed through Handled how much I love Drew and how much I was looking forward to the conclusion of his story. Sure, Brooke is in there too and I was glad to read more about her but for me, this one is all about the boy!!
As we have come to expect, Brooke is in way over her head trying to complete tasks, chores and, projects for her two businesses, her friends and, her own wedding. While Brooke has always been highly efficient and completely capable, she has also generally been on her own so the long, hard hours only mattered to her. Since Drew has come into her life Brooke has seen great improvement overall but, the hours aren’t lessening and though she assures Drew that she has everything covered and things will slow down after the wedding, his patience is beginning to wear thin. With no regrets, Drew gave up his high-powered, high-income job for something far more meaningful and far less time-consuming. Drew’s time with Brooke is precious and though he makes every effort to spend time with her, he is getting pretty tired of being stood up. Their sex life is bleh and bordering on non-existent and there is just only so much a man can take before he crosses the unthinkable line.
The Bottom Line: After spending so much time with the same group of characters I would totally expect both the author and the reader to be tired of the lot of them. That is not the case at all with this series for either me or Zoe Dawson. Dawson keeps her characters fresh and exciting (something an author bored with his/her characters cannot do!) and is totally unafraid of throwing a ton of drama at her characters. Dawson writes strong characters who are able to stick to their guns, be strong and, weather all storms. For me, I love these characters (DREW!!) and am especially glad to see them facing and overcoming adversity – the mark of truly evolving characters. I know the end is near for this original group of characters and I have to say, I will be sorry to see them take a back seat to the next group of characters. This series just doesn’t get old and is one I can truly see myself going to back to again and again :)
Handled by Zoe Dawson Going to the Dogs Series Book 7 Companion Novella to Groomed for Murder Brooke Palmer does it all. She has two businesses, became the wedding planner for her friends, sister-in-law and herself. She sews all the dresses and she mothers everyone. Every one and every thing has a piece of Brooke. Not much left for Drew.
Andrew 'Drew' Hudson is head over heels in love with Brooke. She's everything to him. He would just like it if she made him everything to her. His mantra became...after the wedding...it would all be fine after the wedding. Would it?
When Drew is set on the back burner while Brooke frantically gives herself to all her other endeavors...someone else notices this handsome man. Someone who knows how to soothe the male ego. Will Drew's love for Brooke survive all their obstacles? Handled brings back all eight friends from the previous books. Not only are the four women best friends, their husbands/fiancés have become close as well. **Sexual content and language http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
I love this sweet sexy sassy series. This is NOT a stand-alone. You have to have read Groomed for Murder Going to the Dogs, #2 to get where this story comes from. Everybody knows someone like Brooke. She has a heart the size of Alaska and doesn’t know the meaning of the word no. Brooke and Drew are finally getting married but there is trouble in paradise. Brooke is working too hard and Drew (the former workaholic) is having a hard time now that th tables have turned. Can he show her how much his life has improved since she got him to slow down? Will he get her alone long enough to show her? With help from the dog park gals he might just be able to convince her. Another sweet and sexy tale in this fun series.
Loved Groomed For Murder with Brooke and Drew and this was a great companion novella! Zoe has given each companion novella their own special twist which has kept each fresh, sexy, exciting and must reads! My sympathy was definitely with Drew - how could Brooke just be too "busy" to not take care of him. And boy, how true is that in our own daily lives!!! And in true Zoe Dawson fashion - another dynamite "Epilogue"! Loved seeing all my dog park girls, guys and dogs reunited once again! I'm so looking forward to Captured and getting to see Harper and Caleb's wedding novella but also sad that it's the last "Dog" book for our original 4 dog park girls. I have so LOVED this series!
