The last in the long line of classic Avro bombers, the delta-winged Vulcan served for nearly three decades as the backbone of the RAF's nuclear and conventional strike force. Blooded over the Falkland Islands in 1982, the Vulcan ended its career as part of Strike Command's tanker fleet.
Literally concentrating on the last of the Vulcan's. The photographs inside are superb, stunning and high quality. A great start to the book covering the concept, design and development. Then straight into the first farewells and survivors. A reasonable amount of detail and history of these survivors is given. The technical specification at the end only covers the Avro Type 698 Vulcan B.2, so very disappointing on that front. A good book about the demise of the Vulcan and for the pictures, but if you want more than that you will probably be disappointed.
