Dead Wrong

Dead Wrong is about a young woman name Tasha Marie Smith. Tasha is an African-American woman from Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved to Columbus, Ohio as a teenager with her parents. Ms. Smith is organized, goal oriented, and self-reliant. She has a bachelor’s degree and is working on her master’s. Life couldn’t get any better than this. Tasha is a smart woman because she makes goals for her life that are attainable. They are attainable because she doesn’t have a family to take care of and her immediate family is willing to help her. It is a good life. Well, it was a good life until her life took a 180 degree turn down the wrong direction. It was all because of a man named Jacob. Jacob seemed to be everything she yearned for; educated, well-groomed, confident, financially set, didn’t have any kids, and he was single. Or was he? What more did she need? He was everything she thought she needed. He exemplified success and she wouldn’t stop until she also achieved success. What she didn’t know was that sometimes success comes with a high price and his price was everlasting. Was Tasha willing to pay the price of success? Whatever she decided, Jacob’s love would leave her body limp with frustration, shock, betrayal, and deceit. Tasha Marie Smith was dead wrong or that was what she was told. About the author

Melica Niccole was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Growing up on the Southeast Side, she attended schools such as: Livingston Elementary, Barrett Middle, and Briggs High Schools. She also lived in New Jersey for approximately five years, where she co-founded an annual Children’s Book Festival in Camden, New Jersey and participated in local events. Melica developed a fondness of writing and creating things at an early age. Writing was a creative expressive technique that she used to talk about various subject matters, such as relationships, domestic violence, friendships, and more. These subjects were mainly expressed in the form poetry.

After graduating from college, Melica sought to be a published author. Although she did not become a published author right after her undergraduate work at Otterbein University, the drive and determination within her stayed the same. She has performed in front of audiences at The National Black Book Festival, Inspired Word NYC, The Ohio State University, Newark Public Library (New Jersey), Laughin & Loungin, Writing Wrongs Poetry open mic events, and other places around the country. Her hard work finally paid off in August of 2010 when she released her first book titled, Dead Wrong. She has written 19 books with 4 Children’s Books in development and 1 Kindle Vella work also in development.

Melica has a Master’s Degree in Health Administration with a certificate in Human Resources. She was awarded the Diversity (2018) and Leadership and Citizenship Award (2019) from Otterbein University due to her work with children’s book drives and helping to create a children’s book festival.

She has worked with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health Diagnosis, At-risk youth, children, and various populations for about 15 years.

Melica loves living outside the box and creating new and exciting things. She believes that anything is possible with passion and determination.
