Although things may well have changed in between times, the idea of having one's wishes made known early on is a good one. There may come a time when one is not able to communicate those deep wants. And decisions need be made -- whole body donation? organ donor? DNR? Hospice? what does one consider to be extraordinary? May one request that pain be kept to a minimum -- addiction is not such a concern to a terminal patient.
