Good for what it is. This is a first-hand account of how the author bought, fixed, and rented out his first rental house. Less comprehensive than other guides, but in many ways more practical. Features helpful lists and schedules that may ease doubts for first-timers. Examples: houses he didn't buy, what happens when during an eviction, repair schedule and costs, and top 10 things to look for in a home inspection.

Precious little space is devoted to finding deals or evaluating an opportunity. Then again, it's written at an intro level, relying mostly on real estate professionals and other, more in-depth references to fill in the blanks.

Only got a quarter of the way through this, but it was clearly written with making money from people who buy self help books... not much of value in the first 100 pages, including a bunch of cut and pasted lists of web resources. Waste of time, look for something else.
