`This is a gem of a book from two of the outstanding management researchers of their generation. Unrivalled in its nature Doing Business Research addresses the research project as a whole and - essential detail of philosophical and theoretical matters that are crucial to conceptualising the nature of methodology - a pragmatic guide to why things are important and how they are important - a huge range of things to consider that the reader can use to develop their research project further - a resource book, providing extensive suggested reading to help the researcher do their research.
This book doesn′t just show you the ′basics′ - it will ultimately empower you to place a magnifying glass on all elements of your research.
This book was set as a suggested read in preparation for our DBA research. I found it highly entertaining and extremely useful. It was able to stimulate my interest in research and also guide me towards further relevant readings. The book is designed in a way that allows you to go back and forth different concepts. It was easy to navigate and cherry pick concepts throughout the book.
Though I would recommend it for early career researchers, I do not believe that this book alone will make you an expert. You will probably need to refer to other resources as well.
Very clear and comprehensible research guidebook. Written partly in first person, it has a personal feel and connects with the reader. This is also the way Lee and Lings manage to give a fresh perspective to many basic topics in business research. The book is basically alone sufficient as a companion for a thesis project or another business research project.
