One thing Toni Larue will always do, is give you a plot twist that you won’t see coming. And when you try to think back and see if you missed any hints, the answer will always be no! She weaves these stories together so well, that the plot twists slide in so seamless. I love seeing how her stories unfold and looking forward to reading the rest of her catalogue.
Josephine & Langston have an unorthodox marriage. Josephine is content with his philandering ways, as long as he follows the rules. When Leila comes in the picture everything changes & bombshells continue to be dropped! Great read
Brooooo.. the PLOT TWIST??? I was not expecting that at ALLL! My jaw was literally on the floor cause what do you mean!???? I loved this book. The entire time I thought I had it figured out and then the next page would shake me up. I know a lot of people aren’t really big fans of the multiple POV’s but I thoroughly enjoy it. I think it keeps the book going along for me and keeps me intrigued to know what everyone is thinking rather than seeing one perspective. I thought this was a great story and very entertaining. I need a collaboration with Octavia Grant!! I know that book would be FIRE!
The twist in this book was unexpected. The ending had my mouth dropping. I was not expecting the ending. Josephine put up with a lot and cleaned up a lot of Langston’s mistakes. She was a ride or die chick but ain’t no way I could have stayed with Langston woman after woman just to keep up an image. No way!!! But it was a great read. My first read by Toni Larue and I enjoyed it.
This was indeed a very interesting read. I truly enjoyed the many twists and turns in this well orchestrated storyline. I never saw this ending coming. I knew it was something about Josephine but never in a million years saw this coming. To conspire with your own daughter, to deceive and try to drive your husband insane just for a book deal! Wow! A lot was going on but it was well worth the read! My first read from the author but definitely not my last.
Toni has done it again with this hot novel. Leila and Langston and let's not forget Josephine. She is no joke. This is a page turner that's keeps you on your seat to get to the next chapter. I can visualize the characters as the story unfolds. Awesome story and I highly recommend you pick up the book.
This book was filled with twists of betrayal, lies and deceit. But the biggest twist, at the end, came unexpectedly. These characters had no shame, their only goals being to 'one up' and fulfill their selfish goals. All their sinful desires were magnified by the way they were tied together (which was pretty sick).
The editing error s in this book drove me batty. The fact that these people fell in love in a matter of days drove me batty. I felt like it was written by my 14 year old. (Who is a great writer for being 14, but he’s still 14) The twist at the end is what got it 2 stars. That was good. But overall, it was incredibly cringe.
At first, I didn't like the story ... it was not my usual type of read but I continued to read and surprisingly, I really enjoyed it!!! The ending was unbelievably amazing!!! You definitely earned these 5-stars!!!
This is my first book of hers to read and I can’t say I was not disappointed. It gave me so many rollercoaster rides, craziness, confusion, murder, love all in one book.
first time reading something by this author, but I know it won’t be my last. this book had so many twists that literally kept me entertained. This is just what I needed and I finished it in one sitting (we love a quick read). if you’re into thrillers with some drama mixed in, this book is for you.
This was a page turner for sure I loved the story line and Josephine was my favorite character. Langston had me yelling at him the whole book!! And baby that plot twist had me stuck with my mouth wide open because what Toni!!!
4.5 stars - I flew through this one. The short chapters and quick pace made it super easy to stay into, and the twist? So good. Not overdone, just smart and satisfying. Really enjoyed this one.
The ending was mind blowing. The author has you rooting for Leila and Langston. An author who cheated his entire marriage. The ending will have.your jaw on the ground. Great job to the author. As Always well done.
This was my first time reading a book by this author. Although I figured out part of the plot mid-book, it held my interest and was a fast, enjoyable read.
Another book by Toni I couldn’t put down. Finished it in one sitting! The twist at the end, I never would have guessed that. On to the next Toni Larue book!
