An incredibly interesting read, even more so for me as my grandfather fought & died whilst serving in the 11th Bn Royal Scots Fusiliers at the same time as the author was there.

Written in an relaxed style, with some funny stories it, is an easy read.

Whilst not a classic, it provides an honest perspective, it explains the daily life of an ordinary infantryman & in & away from the frontline. Not something normally written about in historical books of this type.

Definitely worth a read.
