Since the near future affects Sarah personally, Vivian cannot directly intervene and communicate with her. The future becomes the enemy, and the only way to stop it is to cease moving forward, to die. Sarah fights to stay alive without any spiritual guidance, something she has never done before, which becomes her undoing when she enters a trap she cannot walk away from, and no one is there to save her.
