As the title suggests of this book, we have 100 people who share their stories, tips and lessons regarding how to manage a business or to start a new one. Lots of things to be learned here because all these lessons are coming from different people with their different experiences and different types of businesses.
It is difficult to mention the main points here because there are many important subjects and each author has his own ways in explaining what things worked for him/her, but I am going to mention few of the tips/points of discussions I think they are very crucial that were mentioned. For example, Being clear about the purpose of the business, understanding the difference between working in your business and working on your business. How the first step being the most difficult one in anything including starting a business. The importance of owning a business and not being owned by a business, discovering self worth and understanding the value of time. And one of the lesson points I found very interesting is that just because you can start a particular business it does not mean you should do that business, the whole idea is that you need to like what you are doing and have passion in doing it. Online business and its advantages and disadvantages.
The book is really filled with tons of useful lessons coming from people who experienced the whole thing. I think this is a must read to anyone who is having a goal of starting his own business. Yes, the stories are a bit short but at least they give you an idea what you need to keep in mind and when you feel the importance of a lesson you can dig more into the subject of interest and do your own research. I think the author has done a tremendous job in collecting all these different experiences into one single book which makes it really easy for the reader to decided where he wants to start from.
Great book with an abundance of good practical information for anyone who is interested in starting their own business. One common theme was the importance of yoga and meditation to keep yourselves focused on your goals.

I received this book from a GoodReads giveaway. My feelings are very mixed. The format of 100 authors writing individual short pieces was an aspect that made it both interesting and difficult. The rapid change in writing style, domain expertise and the overall expression of opinion in some places made it a tedious read. In general it worked, and the reader gets exposed to ample viewpoints from which they can craft their own thoughts and feelings. At other times the contrast was annoying as right after your interest is piqued from reading a very insightful piece, you get handed three pages of poorly paraphrased platitudes. (However, this does present a cross section of opinion that you would see in the real world.) In general I enjoyed the book. I certainly tagged some pages and highlighted quotes; just be prepared for a somewhat disjointed read.
Full of tips and encouragement for starting a business, growing the business, finding satisfaction in the business, evening the midst of facing obstacles and setbacks. It should be read by all planning to strike out on their own.
