In your early adult years, you think that you know it all. Well that’s how I was looking back on my life. Nearly nineteen-years later, it’s true what they say, you always learn by your mistakes, mistakes make you into a stronger person. Boy, did I make a hell of a lot of mistakes. I never thought that my life would turn out the way that it did. There are only four things that I would never regret, my four beautiful children. They were, and still are, my saving grace, my redemption of sorts. When the darkness became too much, thoughts of them would pull me into the light.
This is my story, it’s not a story that is all sweetness and light. It’s a story of love, regret, devastation, darkness and maybe a little redemption.
So here we are, I shall start from the beginning. Part One

I have been involved in the indie community for a number of years and have always loved how everyone comes together in support of each other. I love writing and reading, living life with my family, and always coming up with new ideas and putting then in to practice.
Words have a way of healing someone, so I will carry on writing, included events that have happened and taking you all on a journey with me.
Outstanding first novel form ML Kacy. This story is basted on true events very emotional and real.

This story is so real and emotional. Rhea has had a rough go at life, being young we often feel invisible that nothing can hurt us but we tend to make mistakes along the way but it's those mistakes that we learn and grow from, it's those mistakes that makes us or breaks us. This is part one of Rhea's journey we get a small introduction to Jacob and we meet Rhea's mom and friends which all play an important part in this book as her life. The author does a great job of giving us an introduction of how her journey starts and I'm looking forward to see where she takes us. I truly enjoyed it.
Can you pin point the moment you wandered off the path...ignored the signs that screamed there was danger ahead, that it was a wrong turn? Can you look back and think that was the one wrong choice that started to unravel the person you hoped and dreamed to be to reveal the trembling little girl trapped inside a grown up's body? Living a lie is based on truth and tells the story of a girl that once had hopes and dreams of happiness but somewhere along the way she lost her way and learned the truth of life...people lie. This is the introduction to a series that promises angst, dark times and hope. It's a journey that you have been invited to take and one that you should open your heart to as inside each of us there is a little Rhea. A girl that has yet to find her direction. There is a glimmer of the author in each word and I loved losing myself to a story of girl finding her way through the mystery of life.
As I sit here trying to think of the words to write this review all I can think of is how my hearts aches for this poor girl in the story...I have never read a book that is so heartbreaking beautiful, that I just wanted to crawl into the book and hold her and cry right along with her...
ML Kacy should be given a medal for this story, it goes into so much detail and you can honestly feel the pain that Rhea goes through....so emotional and raw, I honestly I had tears rolling down my face...
ML Kacy has produced a story that leaves you wanting answer and wanting to just keep reading and pray that this poor girl gets a HEA that so she desperately deserves. I can not begin to say how much people need to read this book, but honestly be prepared with a box of tissues as it is needed...
Hands down a fantastic 5 ⭐️ read and I can not wait to carry on this journey in book 2....beautiful written and definitely a brilliant read. The story is so hard to read but is handled in such a heart warming way....I loved it so much.
M.L. Kacy should be congratulated. As a debut author, to write such a personal and heartfelt story was very brave, in my opinion. The story was written with lots of detail and description, pulling together a myriad of emotions – hope, sadness, horror, regret, to mention but a few. It is a true story and the angst of the author definitely shines through. Despite the blurb I found myself willing it to have a happy ending, and will read the next book hoping to find it. I believe there is a trigger warning – I was in tears through a lot of the book, as the subject matter was a little too close to home for me, so be warned.
4.5 stars. When this book came to my attention, I was expecting something else. Or, maybe I wasn't sure what to expect. I expected it to be good, but maybe more of a light and comedic read; though the title maybe nixed the comedy angle. What I found was a very interesting, somewhat autobiographical read. It's a short read that had me staying up well past what I'd intended until I found myself at the end. It ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger. Yet, I can't wait to find out what happens in the next chapter of the main character, Rhea's, life in part 2.
I added this book to my Kindle, this morning and began reading a couple of hours later. Couldn't put it down!
So raw. So emotional. From the Authors written words, you certainly feel how this is based on real life events. You can read how much emotion the Author is/was feeling, then and now.
So much love to the Author. Well deserved five stars.
Part one of the series and it was a heartfelt story with a lot of heartbreak and grief. I did want to jump into the book and shake the life out of Jacob at one point. The story will resonate with a lot of women. I look forward to part 2.

I recieved a voluntary copy of this book and wow it really had me on the edge of my seat this poor girl it seemed like she had nothing going right! She meets a guy and thinks he's good for her and surprise he's not! Wow alittle bit tears I couldn't believe how mean Jacob was to her! I can't wait to read the next book!
Fantastic debut book. An emotional, based on true events story that gets you right there! The way the author describes everything so perfectly it transports you to the moment. Your emotions will run high and you'll be wanting more. Part two is going to be something special x
Great debut novel from new author ML Kacy. This is an emotional story that is based on true events and it really tugs at your heartstrings. I didn't want to put the book down as I had to know what was going to happen next.
It does end on a bit of a cliff hanger but it didn't detract from the story. I look forward to reading the next book.
Living a Lie is a quick read for someone looking for a way to get lost on a Sunday afternoon. Rhea, a product of divorce, is easy to relate to and I found myself falling for her with little effort. The hero of our story made me want to pull my hair out, but I'm interested to see where Ms. Kacy takes him. I'm hoping he has a change of heart, but we'll see. I will warn you, grab some tissues before reading this one. You'll need them by the end.
This book is heart-wrenching with the story, not an easy read, but when that has you along the way with the author, wanting to make it better for them. As the story of the author's early years, you have tales of lust, of love, of loss and you can't help but feel for them. You also have the story of friendship and those who stand by your side through anything. It's a story that needed to be told.
This is the first book in series, and also the first book I've read by this author. It's based on true events that the author herself has gone through. It was hard for me to read knowing she suffered all of this. It had me nearly crying at time and at others screaming at a certain male who just couldn't keep it in his pants. Was an interesting book and i thoroughly enjoyed it. ❤️
thoroughly enjoyed reading this short read based on true events. fantastically written storyline that from beginning to the end and one stayed true to itself. brought back so many memories for myself but personally i snt thin anyone couldve wrotte it better...i think M.L smashed it .....
This book is based on a true story on the base of one girl's journal.
We meet The a who has had some very dark and low moments in her life. Some of the things she has had to go through are horrendous and no girl should have to go through.
I can't wait to read book two to see what's going to happen next.
I was given an arc of this book but didn't get to read it so I decided to buy the book and read it. First off it took me a while to get into it with the the different wording and editing issues but once I got past the 60% mark I read through it while at work and then finished it just now. I have tears in my eyes that ending took it all from me I felt for Rhea and I'm so happy Jade is such a great friend and I also happy she has her mom. Jacob is a piece of work I hope she gets a better love interest, I don't see him being redeemed at all. What a piece if work. I am patiently waiting for Rhea's next book part two. Good job M.L.
