USA Today bestselling author, Paris Andren writes emotionally evocative stories that touch on real and often intense storylines, suspenseful mysteries and thrillers that come with unexpected humor and romance.
It’s official. Paris Andren writes unputdownable books. After devouring her debut release—Pointe of Darkness (LA Dark Series) (Volume 1)—in one nail-noshing sitting, I couldn’t wait to get my stubby, greedy fingers on her highly-anticipated sequel…WEB OF DARKNESS (LA Dark Series) (Volume 2). And wouldn’t you know it…I also consumed this book by way of a single, multi-hour adventure in page turning.
It’s that good.
The story picks up where Pointe of Darkness left off, with its main characters fleeing from, yet still chained to, the underground world of sex slavery and human trafficking. The heavy nature of the subject matter is neither trivialized nor glorified, and I am enormously impressed with the special care Ms. Andren took to treat it with the staunch realism it deserves. Speaking of which, Web of Darkness almost gives off a non-fiction sort of vibe, a testament to the author’s ability to pull readers into the crux of a problem that is closer to home than we think. We ride every emotion in tandem with the characters until they become our own.
Now, that’s talent.
Web of Darkness didn’t just give me feels…it gave me ALL the feels. Joy, sorrow, desperation, heartbreak, terror, devastation, hope, anxiety, desire, love—you name it—I was in total immersion mode. Andren’s writing is superb, using alternating points of view to the story’s advantage, deepening our connections to returning protagonists Ava and Sage, introducing us to new characters, and giving us an unobstructed look into the evil mindset. The description, dialog, and pacing were on point(e) (see what I did there?), keeping me in a near constant state of pulse-thumping suspense. I seriously couldn’t stop reading if I tried because I just had to know what was going to happen next. Every time I was convinced I had it all figured out…BAM…it was time to think again!
This book is chock-full of page-turning elements: darkness, action, mystery, intrigue, blush-inducing eroticism, and most of all…
Romance.
Because at its essence, Web of Darkness is a love story…albeit an unconventional one, but that’s what makes it special. After all, love isn’t conceived from puppies and unicorns alone. Sometimes fate brings hearts together under extraordinary circumstances. And, to me, there’s something especially satisfying about witnessing the progression of love as it fights against all odds to prevail.
But, the big question is…
Does love indeed win out in the end?
Well, you know I can’t tell you that!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I loved the first book in this series Pointe Of Darkness so much that I was ecstatic to get this one from the author. I was hooked from the first page and didn't want to put this down until I finished the last page. It was full of page turning mystery, edge of your seat mystery, plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged. I definitely recommend this book and the series. Grab a copy today.
A dark and delicious five-star read. This is the second book in the LA Dark series, it follows on from Pointe of Darkness and continues the story of Detective Sage Cartier and his now fiancé Ballerina Ava Grace Delaney and their friends and helpers, as well as catching up with some other people who definitely belong on the dark side. Despite running away to a mountainside hideout to stay away from danger Sage and Ava end up pulled back into the darkness, as Ava gets cabin fever, as she isn’t allowed into the local town and although she loves Sage he is the only face she has seen for a couple of months. Ava decides to help Sage by having a sort of old boxes and belongings of his grandparents to help alleviate the fever. The only problem is Ava find a letter that at first she thinks is a love letter, as its clearly wrote from someone who loves Sage. But that letter wasn’t a love letter it was from Tomi, Sage’s ex who went missing 5 years ago when her family was murdered, she was believed dead at the hands of Ava’s farther. The letter comes with some information that means that although Sage wants nothing more than to keep Ava safe, his personality will mean he has to help out the other women who weren’t as lucky as Ava. Sage has a Hero complex in the best possible way, he doesn’t see himself as a hero, just someone who must help. The only problem is Ivan is still out there, and no one can find him, will coming out of their hide-away be enough for him to show himself, or will he lead Ava and Sage into his web? Will Sage be able to save Ava again? Or will he fail, as the darkness will stop at nothing to clean up its lose ends and Ava is a lose end. I loved this book so hard, it has some troubling subjects and isn’t always an easy read, but it kicks off with a line that reminds me of my favourite Eagles song. “Once you check into Hotel Dark, you can never check out” This book is like Hotel California, in that once you check in your life will never be the same again and you can never leave.
I got a ARC from the author to read and promised to place a honest review!
As it is a continutation of point of darkness it hugged me right away from the first chapter and kept me in a tight hug throughout the story! Throughout the book there is action, tention, emotion, romance ,passion, and shock! even some heat as well! All ingredients are there for a exellent story which is told by the author in a good dynamic way! and reading nice and smoothly! the shocks that grab you by the throat and holds you tight into the book, everyminute! Overall a must read!!
This is my review for both Pointe of Darkness and Web of Darkness. I was hooked from the first sentence. This book grabbed a hold of me and touched my soul. I had a lot of anxious moments and shed tears and held my breaths in some scenes. I couldn’t let go of this book and read every spare second I had. I had to know how Ava and Sage will end up with all the drama and danger she was in. Every new character brought in to the book had a story and a scar that that were treated and heads held high and able to pick themselves up and carry on better persons after what happened to them. I learned a few lessons here too. The suspense was trough out the book. U never knew what’s going to happen next. Very well written, intriguing story. Thank you Paris for gifting me this 2 books. It was more than a story. It touched me deeply and my mind keeps going back to the story........ Can’t wait to read more of your work.
I have read point of Darkness and web of Darkness more times than I can count Paris Andren is a brilliant writer I'm sure I read these books again and again the storylines pull you in and don't let you go there is a reason I have read these books more than once that is because the research is put into the storylines yes there are some dark and scary bits but they are unforgettable they're what have you in tears there are well meme parts and the friendships and the twist and turns will not let you go please enjoy
As it is a continuation of point of darkness It hugged me right from the first chapter and kept me tight! Again there is action. Tension, shocking, romance and passion some heat as well as emotion All ingredient glued into a brilliant story! The same nice characters who doing there job very well in the story! Dynamice storyline/plot! Which makes the reading nice and smoothly The shocks that grabd you by the throat and hold the reader tight into the book ,everyminute! Overall a must read!!!!!
This book just blew my mind. Emotions from one extreme to the other. The story lines were fantastic and I loved every minute of reading it. There area some really dark parts to this series, but it gets the point across. Great writing.
This book was better even than the first book, Pointe Of Darkness. I could see the maturation of the author's writing style. I can't wait until she drops another book!! You should really read this series.
This is book 2 in the series you really need to read book 1 first to understand what is happing. Once I started I couldn’t put this book down at the end of book 1 we see Sage and Ava go into hiding after what happened and the bad guys are still after Ava. But Sage is drawn out of hiding due to mysterious package left behind from Tomi. Leads him into the dark web. It is fast paced. but I liked having all the different POV, from the Characters, we find out what is going on in each of their lives. I am going stop here but if you enjoyed the first book then give this a read was so good This book has a few Twists in it really enjoyed this book.
Well written, intense, suspense, thriller, darker and addictive:::
Funny, because,Master Degree on Anesthesia and the books are ,brilliant story about Darker side::I read both books and ,believe me,my hearts shrink painfully for the events with the characters::: And between reality and fictional story makes you keep reading until finished.:::Highly Recommend 😁😀
