Essential Dignities

Rate this book
In this exciting new book, Dr. Lehman recovers an important ancient aspect of astrology which has become misunderstood and diluted; rulerships. By attempting to simplify astrology, contemporary sources have completely obscured the essential differences between planet, sign, and house. While the novice may benefit from this simplification, much of the old logic of the rulership system is covered up. By researching ancient manuscripts and sources, the ancient system of essential dignities or planetary rulerships is recovered and made available once again to the contemporary astrologer. What was nearly lost is given new power and the potential for understanding. A wealth of information is presented in a clear and concise way with many accurate charts.

My problem with this book is that I don't like the way of interpreting of the authoress, and her examples don't convince me (you will need some level to understand them). Also, despite the fact that it's a book about essential dignities it doesn't explain almost nothing about how to interpret them. Nevertheless, the topics that appear seem to me very interesting and important: especially the matters relating to the historical context. Anyway, I agree in the fundamental thing and the lecture has seemed to me useful although a little boring.

I have a mixed feeling about this book.
There are phrases in this book that describe an essential dignity or lack of that are real gems.
However addressing the why of essential dignities remains, in my opinion, a bit garbled.
