Park Ranger Park

Rate this book
No one would ever believe the truth… When several women hikers go missing in a national forest, federal authorities turn the focus of their investigation toward one particular suspect, Tim Park, especially when the park ranger's ex-girlfriend also mysteriously vanishes. Questioned, near suspension, and under surveillance by the FBI, Park Ranger Park also disappears without a trace, at the same time as another abduction and the bloody, horrific murder of the woman's male companion at the foot of a scenic waterfall. The fantastic part of the story truly starts when Park Ranger Park finds himself face down in a puddle of filth, on the floor of a dungeon in a wondrous otherworld. There, amongst warriors, wizards, and wondeshrungs, Park finds himself fighting for his life, searching for the women he's accused of abducting, and looking for a way back to Earth to clear his good name. This printed edition uses a very comfortable to read Cambria 13pt font.

Strongly detailed so every character, every location comes to life in your minds eye. Scenes crafted with care pull you into a flow that leads faster and faster to an unusual conclusion.

The author has a skillfull and occasionally disconcerting sense of humour, sarcasm and phraseology which seduced you even deeper into this new world of magic, wizards, warrior princesses, tree folk, shapeshifters and creatures you just have to meet to believe.

When people start going missing Park Ranger Tim Park, an unassuming, practical man, gets pulled into an adventure that no human could imagine seeing...or living through. Is he a deranged killer, a monster or is he a hero?

Once you enter this strange place be prepared to stay until it let's you go.

Trigger warning for a bit of sexually violent content. While it is not gratuitous and does assist in building the character, it's just a personal pet peeve of mine.

I highly recommend Park Ranger Park.

I just loved this book!
Mr. Kiesche typically writes stories that don't neatly fit into just one genre. This is a mix of scifi, mystery, romance, adventure, and comedy all rolled up into one rollicking ride of a book. The dialogue is, at times, 'laugh out loud' funny. The narrative provides a crystalline picture of the workings of Park's thoughts and emotions and helps to build his character in your mind's eye. ( I always have pictures of characters in my head when I step into a story).
Hoping for a sequel.
I could see this turn into a screenplay. "Just sayin' "
