The big difference between Lucy's life at 16 and 17 is untold riches and unprecedented fame.
She's rocketed to the top of the charts around the world and is the envy of every teenager. Boys want her and girls want to be her. When a chance encounter with a record music executive pushes her into recording a demo, nobody could have imagined that Lucy was going to become the most famous person alive. That's when she realizes that her life is no longer her own.
Adam is a sweet young man who will do anything for Lucy. When a visit to her home town exposes her past, a past so dark that she's chosen to forget it, he is forced to question how far he's willing to go. But Lucy's past does catch up with her and then she's forced into a deadly situation. Fame has a price and Lucy is about to discover just how big.
While rain trickled down my windows during my childhood, I curled up on a cushioned sofa with a hot drink, a new adventure and I waited impatiently to grow up.
Several years later, I'm still waiting to grow up. In the meantime, grab a drink and jump on board and come on a journey with me. I promise you it will be different.
The ride might be the sordid or gritty story of a North London prostitute, or it might be the dystopian/apocalyptic terrorism fighting hero.
I've also started writing as Adam Norty, so don't be confused by the alias. Fans of A Boy Called Q will enjoy the Adam Norty smut side of things.
Great book. I've been following this author and so far, I haven't had any disappointment.
Lucy is an interesting close-up view of the rise to fame of a young girl (she's 16/17) who has a horrible start to life which comes back to haunt her later in life. There's twists I didn't expect which were great, and a romance that was very sweet.
Favorite line "I don't want to be an audience for your ego!" love it. Well done Fox
I'm a big fan of this author whose style is very good.
Lucy's beginnings are sad in this story, until she's gone to live with a state approved foster parent. It is then that she begins to learn the value of relationships. There was a lot of subtle growth that could almost be missed. When Lucy meets Phil, a record executive, she is pushed into doing a demo, which is successful.
There are a few twists that I didn't see coming and a couple of surprises, including the wedding! Such a great story and so well written!
Another fantastic journey that was well written and fun. And I DO mean fun! Although Lucy's early life is sad, by the time she gets to NY and records her first songs, meets Adam, it becomes real fun! I kept picturing Britney Spears or Lady Gaga and wondered how much of either of them was in this book. There's not enough books like this that are just good fun!
