November 1, 2020The book title is called The Late Hit and the author is K.R Coleman. I am not sure what the lexile is but I can predict that it would be around a 750 Lexile.
The overall theme in this book is make the right decisions. This theme is developed in Malcolm(Bubsy) because he had to make a tough decision about whether to tell Coach and Anton’s parents that he has a concussion because if he did Anton would be mad at him. Bubsy ended up doing it and making the right decision he had a brain bleed.
I liked the book because it had to do with Football and that’s my favorite sport. This book was not confusing at all. It is also pretty easy to read. This book is not predictable because there were 50/50 decisions Bubsy had to make. I liked the ending because that’s when Anton gets better and thanks Bubsy for looking out for him. My favorite part is when they played their game to go to the playoffs and won. A connection I have with this book is that I play Football too.
