I wasn't a huge fan of this book. It's a story about a monkey named Mimi and the day she spends with her grandma. The two monkeys count different objects in the house together throughout the day. The counting all begins by the grandma telling Mimi that she is her one and only dumpling which I thought was a nice touch to show the cute relationship between Mim and her grandmother. I didn't think there was much excitement to this book. I was very impressed by the illustrations either. In my opinion it might be hard to hold a child's attention. While this book was written to help children with their counting, I don't know if it's very effective. The numbers jump around instead of going in consecutive order. This book was not horrible but I think there are much better ones out there to help kids with their numbers.

With a Mimi in the house, this book was a hit. This is a counting concept book based upon a day that Mimi spends with Grandma.
