Honestly, I expected more from this book after reading her "Gracefully Grayson." The American girl wanted to "save" the Chinese girl (who reminded her of her own adopted sister who died of leukemia). I understand that this was an expression of the American girl's grief and all, but it still seemed a little problematic to me.
I'm giving this three stars instead of two because I liked the Chinese girl's story. I would have liked her to have more screen time. I also feel that the premise - that we are all linked to each other by invisible threads that we aren't aware of - is interesting and truthful.
