The Wisest Fool by Clarence Macartney, Abingdon, 1949, 191 pages
Like many of the books of sermons by Macartney this is a collection of Bible character biographies. The author does a good job of gathering the salient facts about each of the men that he profiles and drawing spiritual applications from them. He covers mostly positive role models, like Antipas and Barnabas, but also handles noteworthy negative characters like Judas. I thought his best sermons were on mixed individuals, who did some good and some bad, like Solomon. There is definite devotional value to these sermons.
