Ok so last night I decided that the first book in the sequel was definitely good enough to purchase the second book. Now that I have read both books, I came to realize the editing of the first book was an issue but the storyline and the cast of characters overshadowed the issue basically and a 5 star rating was a no-brainer. The second installment, however, fell short by at least 2 stars but the editing was greatly improved. For me the second book had perhaps too much of the supernatural, spirit world, poltergeist twists to it and the actual progression of the story and characters was limited and restrained a bit. The progression did happen but it lent itself heavily toward the hauntings and became less and less intriguing. I think I will cut my losses at this point and skip book three. The reading experience was still worth my time and money overall.
Jasmine, Joy, and Jackson buried their dad. Joy was molested by her father and gave birth to a baby boy. Jackson was beat and tortured by his father; only to do the same thing to his wife. Joy was confused do to the situation that she went through during her childhood. Jasmine was married to David; who was a detective on the police force. After burying her father; Jasmine received an alert from the bank; a charge from a hotel. Jasmine went to the hotel and saw her husband’s car parked outside. Jasmine received a big surprise; her husband and another man being intimate. In order for the siblings to be at peace they had to forgive their father. Book had some errors, but did not take away from the story.
Although this book could have been rated 5 stars, I decided on 4 after initially giving it 3. Let me explain... The plot is entertaining & unpredictable (which is good) with well developed characters BUT the grammatical errors were worse than the original. No disrespect to the author but a good proofreader will push you to the next level. (The 'G' in God should be capitalized, as the 'H' in He when referring to God; know the difference between to, too & two; there & trey're, etc.). Otherwise this was a very good book.
Well part 2 answered a lot of questions. Jackson's experiences read like a page out of a sci-fi novel. I'm glad Joy stood up for her son's baby's mother. Her mother was just trifling. I was surprised at David's actions. Looks like he had a lot of people fooled. Didn't like his mom at all. Good funeral scene. I'm actually happy for Carmen but I have a feeling her happiness will be short lived. Good follow up & I'm looking forward to reading what happens next
This book veered way off course. It has little to do with the first book, except that the characters are the same. Add the lack of editing and poor writing in general, this book bombed for me. I really don't know what it's about. Don't waste your time on this one.
Very different but suspenseful. People dealing with their past and Other issues can be a mess. Also shows there can be a lot of reasons why things happen in a family and how the effects can alter their future. Looking forward to the next installment.
This was an excellent read. Thete is alot of twists and turns. When you think things cant get no worse than here it is. This is definately a great read book 1 and 2. Now Im on to 3. Cant wait
So good 😊. This is my first read with you and I must say Job WELL DONE 👍🏽. Wow this story was on point. And you’re girl 👧 shut down the funeral ⚰️. Lmao 😂. So funny 😆
Only when I though the first part had a lot of drama. This was an excellent read and kept me turning page after page. Up t makes you wonder what really goes on when people pass on. These siblings were strong in everything that they had to endure which made for an excellent read. Once again, I could not give it a full 5 Stars because there were too many grammatical, spelling and formatting issues. My advice, have an editor edit twice. Other than that, great read. So many twists and turns kept me wanting to know whatever's going to happen next.
I enjoyed this I could actually identify with some of it, I laughed I cried. I thought the characters were great. I'm looking forward too the next book .
