Lately I've been interested in learning more about the stock market, and went so far as to open an online trading account. A favorite library patron suggested this book to me as a good primer that offers unconventional advice about stocks.

My main issue with this title is that the housing crisis was obviously just getting started when this was going to print and there are minimal references to what that might mean to the "America's Finest Companies" formula. I'd be unwilling to just pick off any list of companies who's financial data comes from three years ago, and this book will only become less valuable as it ages. Still, I appreciate his focus on long term investing rather than real time trading since I'm not interested in that as an investment focus.

Definitely worth reading, if only to give me the push I need to try this myself instead of depending on mutual funds for all of my investments.
