I enjoyed this one. It wasn't thrilling, or suspenseful, and I can't really even say the writing was superb or anything, but it was a good story. It was an easy read, that didn't require a lot of thought, but still captivated my attention enough that I could finish the book over the course of a few nights.
These Milo March 'mysteries; are very low level, but sort of enjoyable: Milo is an ex OSS and CIA man, and a total alcoholic, a fact that is never really mentioned, just described. Part of the fun is just keeping track of how much he drinks (he lists everything, as in 'I stopped at a liquor store and bought a six pack of cold beer, and a bottle of bourbon. I poured myself a drink of the bourbon in a glass I took from the motel, and then popped one of the beers, leaving the rest in the brown paper bag, which I then placed behind the drivers seat. Feeling refreshed, I drove out to the old Ame's place..'
