Learn how to conduct financial statement analysis most effectively as you perform analyses on actual, familiar companies. Wahlen/Baginski/Bradshaw's FINANCIAL REPORTING, FINANCIAL STATEMENT ANALYSIS, AND VALUATION, 9E provides a complete, balanced approach as the authors teach you how to integrate concepts from economics, finance, business strategy, accounting, and other business disciplines through the book's unique six-step process. Quick checks after each section help you ensure you have grasped key insights, while integrative and continuing cases highlight familiar companies, including Starbucks and PepsiCo.
Best book ever read about technical analysis of financial interpretations, but you should have some basic knowledge in accountings, else it will be extremely difficult to understand the techniques. I just came across this book on Google while looking for books about deciphering financial statements, fortunately I came across this good book. If you are someone planning to invest in equity market, then this is the right book for you, and only if clearly understood the techniques explained by author.
This book goes through the process of analyzing and valuing a publicly traded company with great detail. The sequence or learning process are not always perfect, and some prior knowledge is assumed, but this is an extremely helpful resource. One of my biggest goals going into my MBA 520 course was to have a better understanding of forecasting future performance of a company and determining an intrinsic value based on that forecast. I learned a lot about that from this book.
Book is very hard to read and poorly written. Pages and pages of text that could just be stated in a few sentences. Not very good if you want to learn how to value a company. I got this book as part of my MBA class and so far read the first few chapters and stopped reading after since was worthless. It seems the make simple concepts more complex than what they are. Would not recommend.
