It's hard to review this book. The author has such an obvious passion for what he writes about. It very much has the air of a man that is sitting down with you at a coffee shop and telling you wonderful stories about the passions of his life.

I think the hardest part is that being Australian, many of the species he writes about do not share my locality. It also does not help that I am much more interested in the "portraits of insects" than the "people who study them"

That being said, I still enjoyed the read and it makes me appreciate entomology more and more.
