A fictional account of the idea, planning, and successful execution of the perfect murder set in the mountains outside Juneau, Alaska. How the wrongly accused fall guy stumbles onto the scene, is interrogated, indicted, and tried makes for page turning reading with surprising twists. If you're thinking about visiting Alaska, you might want to read what happened to a California family who lived part of this adventure.
Bought this book while on vacation in Alaska and the author signed it. Good plot, thought he took a side track while writing about the detective but he tied it all in to the story. A murder happens and it looks like the murderer is going to get away with it. Then he kills again and then again. A co-worker is tried for the murder and you think maybe he has gotten away with all three murders. A nice twist at the end.
This is an unpolished gem of a book. The writing is not as skillful as most professional authors, but the story is fascinating. Based on an actual event, the novel read more like a true crime account. It totally drew me in. Having recently visited Juneau, I also enjoyed the brief descriptions of life in that area.
Great story. Bought it in Juneau at the state park, and the author was there signing. I always love reading fiction about a place I've been. It was doubly great to meet the author. I gave it 4 stars only because the writing is a little rough, but it doesn't detract from the story.
A disappointing mystery. The writer made use of common local last names outdated places but wrote with little accuracy about the town. All the characters are men, it’s based on the murder of a woman, lacks development and a plot. Instead of developing a story the writer took every convenience and easy way out to make this a quick book writting job, lacking imagination or development.
