It was a very hard book to get through. I did find some positive quotes from the book that I can apply such as, “children need to be taught with patience as our Father does with us.”, “Loves slows down and listens, love encourages, love inspires, and love does not break the spirit that helps it to rise.”
The last few chapters were very rough to get through. But I had to trudge through to finish the book anyway.

This volume actually includes two books: "Prayer: Finding the Heart's True Home" and "Prayers from the Heart". The first is an introduction to 21 different approaches to prayer, the other is a collection of various written prayers that Foster has compiled and/or composed over the years. I've found both helpful, enlightening and enriching, even if here and there the language becomes a bit too 1992-"churchy"

This reflects the lifework of the author in clear and deep and wide chapters presenting a survey and practice of methods that people and Jesus use in a conversational relationship with our Creator God. Discussion in my group of brothers who meet weekly to pray together does not fit the 20 minute period designated for meditation.
