Fodor's Travel Publications is a United States-based producer of English-language travel guides and online tourism information. It was founded by Hungarian Eugene Fodor in 1936. Fodor’s was acquired by Random House in 1986 and sold to Internet Brands in 2016.
As good as Fodor's Rome. The book was comprehensive and enriching in many ways. Technically, I didn't read the book, my wife did while we were traveling, but in my defense she read most of it out loud, so I feel obligated to rate this great guide.
We used it in Zell am See, Salzburg, and Vienna. And all the suggestions and recommendations in the book were remarkably useful.
We enjoyed Austria with this book and we had learned so much about the history of Austria and the Habsburg dynasty.
An amazing guide. You MUST have it if you plan to visit Austria!
Travel ebooks are finally coming into their own, breaking away from paper books and learning to take full advantage of their own strengths of quick access, easy note taking and flexibility. If you're planning a tour of this region of Austria, and need more depth than internet pages alone can give, this book will provide a good planning instrument and companion. The only weakness I could see was that it could add a few more places between Vienna and Salzburg.
