Peter Allen David, often abbreviated PAD, was an American writer of comic books, novels, television, films, and video games. His notable comic book work includes an award-winning 12-year run on The Incredible Hulk, as well as runs on Aquaman, Young Justice, SpyBoy, Supergirl, Fallen Angel, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Captain Marvel, and X-Factor.
His Star Trek work included comic books and novels such as the New Frontier book series. His other novels included film adaptations, media tie-ins, and original works, such as the Apropos of Nothing and Knight Life series. His television work includes series such as Babylon 5, Young Justice, Ben 10: Alien Force and Nickelodeon's Space Cases, which he co-created with Bill Mumy.
David often jokingly described his occupation as "Writer of Stuff", and he was noted for his prolific writing, characterized by its mingling of real-world issues with humor and references to popular culture, as well as elements of metafiction and self-reference.

Some great covers, but why is Thor wearing such a weird costume?!
“Issue #2” starts with Ashel Asher seeing two warring beings in his head. A nearby cop thinks he’s on drugs but quickly gets into an argument with another cop who thinks he’s in Gotham City.
They are interrupted by Killer Croc and Wolverine fighting. Nearby Clark Kent and Peter Parker are trying to ditch each other to change clothes.
Lots of mis-matched fights are going on all over the place!
Nice! Someone got Nightwing’s costume right!
Wolverine and Gambit steal the Batmobile to get back to Westchester.
The two cosmic entities in Alex’s head (since he and his counterpart have been unable to keep things duct-taped into their respective universes) have decided that the superheroes of their worlds must fight to see who is superior and the loser’s universe will be destroyed.
Captain Marvel battles Thor (and YES it is Captain Marvel!)
Sub-Mariner battles Aquaman.
And the writers are having a lot of fun with mixing up the lore of both universes.
Flash fights Quicksilver.
And Wonder Woman has picked up Thor’s hammer.
Rather slight, but still fun. Would be a 3 but the art makes it 4 stars

El vagabundo le explica a Axel Asher su naturaleza. Ambos son producto de residuos de la separación de los grandes hermanos multiversales tras el Big Bang. Fragmentos de portales interdimensionales y personas vivas que tratan de encontrarse a sí mismas, llevan consigo el poder de los hermanos, pertenecen a ese limbo entre los dos universos.
Los dos hermanos se han visto cara a cara, a través del Espectro y El Tribunal Viviente, y han decidido utilizar a sus campeones para enfrentarse entre sí para que uno solo quede en pie, y fusionar al otro hacia sí para que vuelvan a ser uno. Por tal razón, los héroes deberán pelear contra sus similares del otro universo. DC y Marvel enfrentan a sus más poderosos defensores.
La primera batalla es entre Thor y Capitán Marvel (Shazam), en donde Thor se lleva la victoria por los pelos, pero provoca que su Mjolnir se pierda en el proceso. Dicho martillo llega a manos de Wonder Woman, la cual logra levantarlo, luciendo que es digna de este. También Aquaman y Namor se enfrentan, y lo mismo Flash y Quicksilver.

Don’t really want to go that deep on the matchups presented here, mostly because they happen in very few pages.
What I find more interesting is the concept of the brothers and the reason both sets of DC and Marvel heroes fight each other in the first place. Other than fanservice, that is.
There are two entities outside of reality, representing the two different cosmologies of Marvel and DC, both of which have blue and red elements. Perhaps a way to express how both have influenced each other in the real world.
Speaking of the real world, the idea that these two would clash once they became aware of the other does mirror real-life fan discussions about characters owned by one or the other company.
As soon as hostilities begin we see characters from both universes cross paths with elements from the other. Moleman in the Batcave, Captain America fighting Bane (bonus points for Bane trying to break Cap's back), Batman and Nightwing facing Daredevil, and the matchups presented in this book.
Let’s see what happens next in this universal-level event.

Today I read this comic book for (what I believe is) the first time since I originally read it in 1996. I was about 14 at the time, and I remember loving this Multiversal clash! Reading it today, almost 25 years later, I may have loved it even more. Possibly it's nostalgia, or possibly it's that I know these characters better now then I did back then. Either way, I loved this issue. 5 stars!
This issue featured the beginning of the DC vs. Marvel battles, as we saw:
-Thor vs. Captain Marvel (Shazam)
-Aquaman vs. Namor
-The Flash vs. Quicksilver
In each of these battles, I totally agreed with the results, however Thor's character design in the 1990s was really weird.
