Shades of Colored

It seems to Sara Gail Durbin, "The wealthiest Girl in Kentucky" that Jordan Hendrix has been her nemesis all of her life and in fact he has been since her eighteenth birthday when she rejected him as a suitor in favor of Johnny Amos, a Negro man. Jordan never got over the embarrassment of being turned down over a colored man. Now, Sara has a husband and children, and Jordan Hendrix is also married with children. However, this irrational man is determined to have Sara and her assets that Jordan believes himself to be entitled to. He will stop at nothing to have Sara as his wife-even if it means killing both her family and his own. Jordan's obsession with Sara eventually drives him insane. He is placed in Waverly Asylum, but not even Waverly's walls can keep him from getting his revenge towards Sara and Johnny.
