1 in 2 students in the U.S. experience anxiety or stress-related behaviors. I was one of those children.

I AM TESSA is a blend of short, personal stories along with the tools and coping mechanisms that help young people thrive.

Each tool is designed to take the reader on a learning journey about themselves and ultimately help them move through their anxiety to find joy in challenging moments.

While not every tool works for every person, this book includes a wide variety to meet the needs of each unique person.

You have a choice in how your story will unfold.

- find tools, techniques, recipes, and mantras that will hep you shift from a fearful, stressed, or anxious state into a being who can self-regulate and who knows what it feels like to thrive.

- If you believe that your past doesn't predict nor dictate your future, it will not. But if you believe that it does, it can haunt you.

- I no longer feared her help or anyone else's because with help is how I got anywhere on this journey.

- Being angry did not not make the situation any better. Putting on the gratitude lens did. It made the world seems a little bit brighter than the darkness under my skin.

- The hardest realization: Being in a relationship I am not ready for. I could not love this guy if I didn't deeply love myself. It was a radical wake up call that I needed to focus on who I was rather than try fitting into the image of a girlfriend for the sake of the title.

- I don't think we should wait until massive heart attacks happen to fight for what we deserve or need. It's when we put a significant amount of effort into ourselves that we are rewarded.

- When we state how we are feeling and what we need, people will respond in ways that will surprise us.

- Don't be afraid to ask for help. We are human, which means we require help at some points during our lives.
