llegit el 2022. Llarg, pel que fa a tots els anteriors de arsène lupin, però molt bo, tens, inesperat a voltes i a vegades previsible, i que t'enganxa. Per mi, de moment, el millor.

this book was fun! so many twists and turns, one could argue sometimes too many. The prose is typical 19th century, which every now and then stopped me from continuing. But when I moved passed that I enjoyed it. THis is the third Lupin story I read, and so far this was the most fun for me.

Pierwsze rozdziały były bardzo wciągające, następnie intryga się nawarstwiala, aż zaczęła ocierać się o absurd, by na końcu osiągnąć poziom patentowanej bzdury. Lupin, mimo, że jest tak inteligentny i przebiegły momentami okazuje się być żenującym idiotą. Na dodatek jeśli fascynujące przestępstwa popełnia mężczyzna to jest on geniuszem zbrodni, natomiast gdy je popełnia kobieta, to jest po prostu obłąkana. Mój pierwszy i ostatni kontakt z prozą Leblanca.

Stavolta no, Lupin. Questa volta non basteranno la tua eccezionale volontà, la tua forza, la tua mente superiore. Stavolta, hai di fronte un avversario al tuo stesso livello, oppure completamente folle. Chi arriverà per primo a decifrare l’enigma di APOO e delle misteriose cifre 813? E perché si scomoda persino lui, il Cesare contemporaneo? Chi ha interesse a mettere le mani sul piano di Kesselbach, e soprattutto in cosa consiste questo grandioso piano? Lo vogliono, lo temono, o stanno cercando di eliminarne le tracce? Chi è Pierre Leduc?
Mille misteri, mille trabocchetti, morti violente e assassinii senza motivo. Un’indagine, un colpo forse, che vede per la prima volta Lupin impegnato fin dal principio (ammicco), e non come ombra da rincorrere che, come nei precedenti romanzi, appare solo all’inizio e alla fine: qui Lupin pensa, agisce, ama, odia, teme, diventa tridimensionale.
Certo, non tutto gira a meraviglia, ci sono alcune giravolte di troppo e qualcuno dei classici trucchetti da giallisti viene utilizzato, ma comunque si deve applaudire Leblanc. Fu un’autentica meraviglia di scrittore. Mi spiace conoscerlo solo oggi.
La cosa che più mi fa impazzire è la struttura seriale dei romanzi e dei racconti. Anticipa di 50 anni la serialità televisiva: le trame sono autoconclusive, ma pezzo dopo pezzo porta avanti una trama orizzontale più ampia, in cui si cita il passato (o se ne traggono conclusioni, come ne Il Faraglione Cavo, il quale affonda le sue radici nei racconti precedenti) e contemporaneamente si costruisce il futuro, con rivelazioni sorprendenti e colpi di scena emozionanti.
È davvero una gioia leggere Leblanc e il suo Lupin, sono felicissimo di aver iniziato (e quasi terminato) questa collana, che si sta rivelando una delle cose più belle che io abbia mai letto in vita mia.
