We are at a dead growth has become unsustainable, it no longer generates jobs as in the past, it concentrates wealth in the hands of a tiny oligarchy and it is destroying our planet. Capital-led globalization is indeed behind this overall disaster, which will end with us if we do not react on time. But to do that we must have a an alternative to the deadly course that our world has taken. We must reverse our priorities; no longer expect from growth the solution to all our problems. We should rather prioritize our basic needs, the recovery of the environment, social conviviality and economic self-reliance. To do so, we must deliver a new world, which requires combating the ruling ideology, reinventing democracy, governing wisely and building fair societies. Intellectuals and activists have a special responsibility in this respect. This book is particularly intended for them. This is the overall project proposed by Ariel Français, a blueprint for changing our world, turning it more fair, convivial and sustainable.
