Do it the successful way. The Hogan way. Ben Hogan was a player whose ball-striking ability was so precise he literally wore down the grooves in the sweet spot of the club face. Of all golf professionals past and present, he had the most influence on the game's techniques since Bobby Jones. Acclaimed author, former golf teacher, and senior instruction editor of Golf magazine John Andrisani analyzes every aspect of Hogan's techniques. Tapping into the talent of a shotmaking genius -- the purest striker of a golf ball that ever lived -- Andrisani shows how to apply the secrets of Hogan's setup and swing to today's technologically advanced clubs. Filled with rare photographs and illustrations that demonstrate the extra-special qualities of Hogan's shotmaking methods, The Hogan Way is your essential handbook for playing a successful game of golf.
This is a good book to read if you're a golfer and a fan of Ben Hogan's. There are many interesting stories about how dedicated he was to the sport, and how he was able to modify his setup and swing to make him one of the great golfers. From an instructional viewpoint to improving your own game, the reader can pick up some tips, but is better off looking for another book. There are some really good photographs of Ben Hogan and analysis of his stance and swing, but this book is best viewed as a general interest book about a specific person, written for a person who is interested in golf.
